Honestly...the number one thing that will sell your house.
Simplify Rent a storage area and pack as much as you possibly can into it.....that is what sold our house to us. Very minimal left the house looking like a blank canvas. Closets look much larger when they aren't packed full Same thing with rooms |

You left out the stairs to the basement! Not sure about anything else, but I can paint and maybe help with window treatments The stairs in the basement are a 'nice to have' thing, not a must have. We're aiming for the things a house inspector would note (dryer vent, eaves) or the obvious things that someone looking at the house would notice (window treatments, landscaping). The stairs are just... there. |

All,
Susan and I are going to hold a "Fix our house, so we can sell it" party the weekend of October 8 / 9 / 10. The festivities include: * Fix light fixture in Ian's closet (as opposed to a light bulb hanging from a conduit) * Fix kitchen sink fixture looseness * Seed lawn / landscape (optional) * Remove old appliances from basement (washer, dryer, water heater) * Paint back of house / repair wood (requires a tall ladder that we don't have plus some guts) * Cover eaves holes / plug electrical service hole (require a tall ladder that we don't have plus some guts) * Paint bathroom ceiling (cover that water stained bit) * Paint back bedroom (we replaced the ceiling, so the room's paint job needs updating) * Window treatment (new curtains / drapes / rods - cheap style) * Breaker panel cover replacement (probably just some screws) * Cap chimney (need a pro here...) * Insulate back room (floors / walls) * Fix dryer vent (need to cut a window) * Clean carpet (Olivia's eating habits are... messy) * Fix bathroom sink drain (the sink isn't draining... why not?) * Glue shower tile(s) (shouldn't be too tough, right?) * Brace some floor joists (the last people went a little... cheap) * Dig sump pump pit deeper * Fix whatever else we come across during the party Anyone care to join us? |
